6.5/284 and Reloader 17

For anyone who cares, just put 70 rounds down range on a Win. prone rifle in 6.5/284 utilizing Reloader 17. 47.5 grains/Norma brass/Fed. 210M primers yielding 3030 fps w/ ES of 10. Didn't compute SD and don't care, this combo loves this powder. 1000 yard match Sunday, hopefully I can do my part!

Sounds pretty good! What bullet weight?

What was I thinking! SMK 142s straight out of the box. Tried sorting by weight and bearing length. Then computed how much the tiny differences really were and stopped. For 1% it wasn't worth it - my hold isn't THAT good (yet).

What is the barrel length?

Barrel is a Broughton, length is 30 1/2".

I have done a lot of testing of RL-17 in the 6.5-284, and have found it to produce the best performing load yet shot by me in this caliber. Test results can be found here:

Chris, great groups. Kinda unusual to see a 6.5 w/heavy bullets shoot that good at a hundred. Looks like you got a winner. Larry in western Ky.
