Well, in all my years of hand loading...with all of the various chamberings that I have shot, I have never really checked the rate of throat erosion. I am always tinkering, twisting and turning my dies, changing bullets, and for most of my chamberings have 2 or more tubes and only one set of dies for each.
Well, I only have ever had ONE 6-47L. I set it up to shoot the 108 Bergers, set the dies, loved how it shot, and never touched ANY of my dies or switched any components since day one.
I just put my 1006th round down the tube. I am going to use it as a backup for an upcoming match, so I thought I would check everything over. The best I can tell, I have roughly .090 wear (within .010). Day one measurments were simple...the lands were new and square, and getting a measurememt was simple. Now, finding and EXACT measurment is tougher because of the wear to the throat. I no longer get nice land marks on my bullets for referance....more of a ring .
Does this number jive with your numbers??
Brux 1-8
39 H4350
108 Berger BT
CCI 450
Thanks,
Tod
