6-284 loading info lost

Well, the gunsmith called today. My new rifle in 6-284 has shipped! I had been gleaning posts far and near for loads using the 105 Berger Hybrid/105 A-Max as a starting reference point. Unfortunately a death in the family has totally scattered my brain. I have some stuff written down and the info I had been storing in my head has disappeared. Sure would appreciate info on loads from your libraries. Thanks, John

I shoot that "Bad boy" cartridge . But maybe my loads are too hot for your rifle ? I suggest you get a Sierra reloading manual and start with those loads shooting through your Chronograph . I guarantee you my loads are a whole lot faster then those milk toast velocities Sierra has listed. Lately I've been getting 3600fps with 87gr V-max burning Reloader #23 with no pressure signs .

I shoot the Berger 105's with 20 thousandths jump. Fed 210M primers. Lapua brass. Reloader 22 over 50.4 grains. Shoots sub 1/2 moa all day and better. Velocity 3200+. Krieger 1x8 4 groove barrel. Rem 700 action. Scott

Thanks. That's the type of info I'm after...What guys are using and having luck with. Ordered a Berger manual should be here Fri.

nmkid,
Contact us at techsupport@bergerbullets.com. We can help with the Berger load info. But what Dans40x posted is a good idea also. Getting loads off the net can be rather dicey to say the least.

I realize the part about Internet loads. I'm not looking to use another loaders load in my rifle. All I'm asking is which bullet/powder combo folks are using that shoot good.

Tell us about your rifle ?

Stockys LR Composite REM 700 LA
.250 Lug
30" McGowen 1.8 with brake
Basix Trigger
Sightron III 6x24x50 LR MOA

My poor man's build. At my age I couldn't see spending anymore then I did. So, we'll see what happens. Wanted to try and go with a better(?) barrel but, didn't like the wait. McGowen had a 20% sale a while back so I jumped on it. Other considerations were PD hunts in WYO. and rock chuck in CALIF. this summer. Hope I don't get stopped along the way...A boat load of ammo and 4 guns!!

You're going to drive to CA for chucks ?Why not ID or OR ? Don't they have Woodchucks in your beautiful state ? Good luck with your rifle.

It's partially a long over due trip to visit relatives. I'll be gone for a month so I can take it easy and mooch of the relatives until they kick me out!!

Every target, I write down conditions, velocity, load data, etc. and then take pics of them with my iPhone. They are then automatically downloaded to my macbook pro laptop. Targets are then located and stored in a much easier fashion. i also take a pic of mic setting of my compition seater with loads info. Fast too! Good luck!
