58-75gr projectiles in 6 Creedmoor?

Has anyone ran 58-75gr projectiles with a saami 6 Creedmoor chamber? If so how did they do in it? I'm worried about the .183 freebore being too much for that weight range. I am looking at putting together a new coyote gun and wanting something flat shooting with more knockdown than the 223. This will be a 1:8 twist barrel 18" long and running a suppressor full time.

I loaded some 55gr nosler ballistic tips for my 6 creed. I used tac powder and the oal listed in noslers data. It’s in an 8 twist Ruger American with aics type mag and they don’t like to feed good because of the short oal. They shot under an inch on my first try so I just loaded what I had at those specs.

6mm - 6.5mm Creed's are made for long heavy bullets, something you are
not looking to use. So unless you have a custom reamer made I would go with a 243.

Just a curious question. Why do you want to go with a 1-8 twist barrel and use the 58-75gr bullets? WD

In my varmint Dashers the 75 gr v-max was the best for getting to the lands, were others were way short. I dont know why they use the .183 freebore in the 6 creed. My .150 freebore is perfect for 115 vlds and works good with the 105's and 108's also. I would go with a shorter freebore. Those 75's would be pretty flat shooting ! I shoot them in 8 twist in my dashers, and they shoot very well.

The reason for the 8 twist barrel is so that I could use up to 105's the rest of the year that I'm not using the light projectiles. I'm building it for a new night hunting thermal rifle for coyotes (lightweights bullets fast and flat), but thermal season here is only 2 months long. So I would like to still be able to shoot heavier bullets out of it the rest of the year, like deer season and long range steel and paper targets. I didn't want to dedicate a rifle for only 2 months out of the year. This barrel will be short (18") and always suppressed. It doesn't have to be ultra accurate for its purpose, but I still would like it to shoot the lightweights pretty decent. I just never hear of anyone using lighter than 87's and didn't know if it was because they didn't shoot worth a hoot in most 6 creedmoor chambers. I've also been considering the 6xc and 6gt. I would like to get a good 3400fps with 75's or 3500 with 65's, so I'm starting to think that eliminates the 6gt with the short barrel.

Thank you for the info. I'm starting to think a .109 freebore 6 Creedmoor might be the best compromise for what I'm wanting. What velocities are you getting with the 75's with your dasher and what barrel length?
