53 Sierra flat base

I have been shooting sierra moly 52s in my AR ever since I have been shooting in highpowe. I use an S bushing FL die and a .245 bushing. Recently I decided to try Sierra's flat base 53 for reduced course matches. After check the neck tension on a loaded round and finding that it matched the .245 bushing I already had, i found that the bullet would slup back into the case when i applied moderate pressure against a block of wood..which is my usual neck tension test on a dummy round. Redding lists a .244 as the smallest bushing for a 223 REM. has anybody had any similar trouble? I dont want to reduce the bushing down too mcuh and shave any metal off the bullet. Ideas? The 53 is supposed to kick ass on the short line.

Mike: The Sierra #1400 has been my 'standard' go-to short-range bullet for longer than I can remember, in bolt and gas guns both. Side-by-side comparisons with the Berger version are sometimes difficult to tell apart/ I buy the #1400 by the box of 500. Neck tension has never been a problem, but I would think that would be based on what brass you are using: ex: Lapua vs. Winchester, not on some 'advice' by Redding suggesting .244'. My bushing size is based on the brass I'm using: Lapua will require a larger dia. because of the thicker necks. With the bolt guns, I'm using .002' smaller than loaded neck dia., and for the ARs' it's .003' smaller. I've always preferred the #1400 because of the longer bearing surface, compared to the boatail #1410, to take the engraving of the lands. Extremely accurate bullet.:)
