50 years of 1911 parts collection

this may not be the place, but I am asking for advice,
I have competed for 50 years with 1911's bulleyse, ipsc, etc. and have parts, lots of parts, bbls, mags, triggers, sights, springs, you name it I have it, jigs for tuning sears etc. springs, a good number new.

plus close to 20+ mags, 7, 8, and 10 round all working // nm bbls bushings, etc.

what do you guys suggest is the best way to sell it, I am not really into selling piece by piece one at a time, that would take for ever on ebay or gunbroker, lots of trips to the PO.

your thought please

Bob

Try the bullseye forum. There are a couple of smiths and they might be interested in the stuff as a lot. http://www.bullseyeforum.net

I agree. List an inventory and a 1911 Smith will probably interested but you'll have to expect wholesale money. Piece by piece probably would bring the most but is a pain and shipping piece by piece would cost more.

If you do decide to part out, please list somenof what you have or we can list what we are seeking. My wife and I are huge 1911 fans and I love smithing my own. Interested in many parts my self!
I just picked up a 38 Super for her Christmas present.

Bob,

That list would make only a drop in the bucket an old friend of mine who passed some while back. Many a time he showed me and told tales of building 45s for air force "?" pistol teams, the guys didn't have any money but they had a great supply of new parts to trade out. He was a builder not a fitter with all the oversize stuff we have now, he welded up and ground down. I have one of his entry model 45s "1911s, the only thing he would touch" came with a 10 rd in 3 in group at 50 yds target, he did this with all his guns. He did his shooting at night and slept till midday, loaded all his ammo, cast his own, had a closet stacked to the ceiling with 50cal cans full of match ammo. Makes me sick to even think about it now, his son could have give a rip about it, probably let it go for a penny on the dollar. Sorry, just got on my mind thinking about my friend.
