anyone know where to get blueprints to build a single shot bolt action 50 cal.?

If I had seen your post a couple weeks ago I could have helped you out. I just gave my set of prints for 'The Big 50' to a fella at work. I'm supposed to get a set for a gatling gun in trade. At any rate, the Big 50 uses a surplus M2 barrel, a Weatherby trigger, and the bolt head is the same diameter as the bolt body.......which somehow facilitates ease of machining the receiver. I did not build a rifle from these prints, and it has been a few years since I looked at them.
I'm a fairly competent machinist by trade, with access to alot of different machinery, but no longer have access to a sinker EDM. After studying the prints I decided to get an EDM Arms action and just putting a rifle together from that starting point.

joefish I have a few of the books in PDF ie.. Maadi-griffin and the construction manual. Is this what you are looking for?

Stone25mkiv Where did you get an EDM Arms action? They look cool, but extremely expensive.

Side question.. not to take away your thread, but is there such a thing as an 80% bolt action receiver? It seems that most of the custom bolt guns end up having the critical surfaces redone to the point that if you just had the raceways cut someone could finish it with just a lath. Thoughts?

thanx for the reply,i checked amazon, the have a book with blueprints,but the the customer reviews says they are useless.
so i figuerd i would inquire here. they have started to have 50 cal shooting at my local nra range,it sounds like fun.

I bought it directly from Rich,?) at EDM Arms. I beleive that is the fella's name that owns EDM Arms. It isn't the repeater model that cost 7 or 8 grand as a finished rifle. This is the SA50....a single shot full bolt action. The serial number is in the low teens, which makes it about 4 or 5 years old, and cost about 1050 at the time.,bought 3 of them to get them discounted). I put a Kreiger barrel on it, 36 inch, with a minimum no-turn chamber. I've been very pleased with it.
