I am sure this has been asked around many times, but I have a few questions I have not readily found answers for.
My questions are prompted in that i am assembling a LA Savage as a swap barrel mule for barrels in whatever surplus ammo is cheap at the time. Obviously I can get barrels and bolt faces for 308, 223, 7.62x39, 7.62x54R, 303, etc.......But the 5.45x39 ammo is about .14 cents a round in bulk. Again, obviously, tiny groups are not my goal as much as trigger time is. I am envisioning a out to 300yd rock blaster.
1. does anyone know how makes a "affordable" .218"/.221" 1-10" twist or so barrel ???
2. does anyone have a "take-off" 5.45x39 barrel that I can thread to a 110 ???
3. has anyone fired 5.45x39 ammo in a .224" barrel ???
