5/35 SMc

Hello all!

I have now started gathering components for a 20BR build,so I thought).

I then met a guy who owned a 5/35 SMc and since our discussion, he has really got me thinking that I should chamber for the 5/35 SMc caliber.

Does anyone here have experience with it?

The cool thing is that you can buy prepped Brass!!

So, my thinking is that even if you don't buy into all the hype that it's better than the 20BR, you still have a 20br equivalent that you won't need to do all the work prepping brass!!!

What do you all think?

I posted this on Saubier.com as well, hopefully between the two sites I will get some info.

Thanks!!

The 5/35 smc is OK. But the dies by Lee are expensive and are not of the quality as Redding etc. The brass is also expensive and not of the quality as Laupa. The 20 BR will do any thing the 5/35 smc can do. Have had a 5/35 smc and now own 2 20 BR's.

The 5/35 is nothing more than a slightly modified 20BR. There's nothing magic about the convex shoulder, it's just a scam. Funny how in articles hyping the cartridge and on that guy's website, it's always compared to completely different .22 cal cartridges, but never other 20's. On that whole very long - very boring website filled with BS, and as obvious as the comparison would seem to be, he doesn't compare it to the 20BR.....wonder why that is. I know two guys who shoot the 20BR. It's accurate and great on prairie dogs. Their 20BR velocity is the same as that 5/35 with accuracy at least as good. The 5/35 offers no advantage, brass is horribly expensive - I'm sure dies are too - and try bumping the shoulder of that case. It's all hype.
