4D Reamer (info on reamer)

Emailed a couple of times to try and find out what the throat is on a 6.5 SAUM reamer but just get back a generic email (web page only shows reamer and no dimensions). No phone number that I can find, only fax. Anyone know how to get information on that?

I've been down that road with them. He doesn’t give out dimensions that’s not already listed in his page. I did get an email response stating that the reamer that I inquired about (not the 6.5 SAUM) had "standard for caliber dimensions for neck and throat". No other info given … after having to throat it another .100"+, to the bullet, I found out otherwise. If you don't have a 6.5 throater, I'd suggest renting one as well. Other than that, my experience with Fred has been great.

Could be anything since it's a wildcat.
Most likely it conforms to the .300 SAUM of .110 freebore, but...

My reamer has .178 freebore originally setup for 150gr Matrix bullets in a 2.98” Wyatt’s extended magazine. What are you looking for ? What bullet and what length magazine are you intending to use ?

I actually have a reamer but it only has the .081 FB and wanting to throat for heavies. I also inherited a 6.5 throater but just wanted to cut everything in one operation. Looks like my current setup will have to work unless I order one. Gonna start with Berger 153’s and it’ll be out of a Defiance XM. Was going to order the bottom metal and mags after deciding on what to do about the reamer.

I think GAP used .081 throat initially but then went to .120 if I am remembering correctly…if I’m wrong, one of these guys will tell me.

If the man won't give you the info you want take your $$$ elsewhere. Why take the chance.
Pat, is there another company that rents reamers? I jus

I’d like to, just don’t know if another company that rents reamers. Guess I’ll just have to bite the bullet and order one.

I didn't pick up on the fact that you were wanting to rent a reamer. Best bet on other rental outfits would be to start a new thread asking about reamer rental companies and get feedback from members here. I have never rented a reamer so I cannot offer any info.
I would still be nervous about renting a reamer from somebody that will not or cannot give dimensions on their reamers...barrels are expensive.

These are the only companies that I have rented chamber rentals from and I haven't had any issues with either. Elk Ridge does include a return box with your order which saves a trip to the post office. Charged for of course.
