.44-458

My brother passed away and I inherited an action and barrel made from a Mark II Mauser. It is obviously a custom job and it's stamped .44-458 and the barrel is for .429 bullets. Has anyone ever heard of such a creature and if so any loading info would be helpful. I do own a .458 win mag and have ample shells. I took one of them and ran it in the .44 mag sizing die and necked it down about 1/3 to 1/2 inch and it chambered, but that's about all I have done for now.
