416 Taylor Loads

Hi ! Any one on here have a 416 Taylor and would share some load info - I have 350 gr Speers - 400 gr Hornady DGX and 400 gr Barnes TSX bullets - I also have EVERY powder there is (nearly) so please share ! Thks

Cheers RJ

A Google search will enlighten you.
A reloading manual & simple math will get you in the ball park.
RL 15 burn rate powders work well.
Worse case, down load 416 Rem Mag loads by 20% & work up.

The Taylor is a necked down 458WM case or belted magnum basic case.

jIM. I know a little about the .416 Taylor. I have a 12" SSK Encore. I've taken the #4 handgun lion (charge at 23 yds), #11 Cape buff (charge at 29 yds), #3 roan (150 yds), full charge elephant at 12 yds. ,and another Cape buff this year at 80 yds. All but the elephant were one shooters.
This round and gun is an absolute hammer on big game. I used several powders in the past that gave iffy performance in accuracy. I finally found the winner- IMR 4064. I put 400 gr. Hornady DG-X and DG-S over 63.0 gr. I put all 350 gr. bullets over 66.0 gr. IMR 4064. Barnes TSX also work with these loads.
Be VERY careful with Swift bullets. Their construction makes them produce higher pressures than other bullets. I ruined one frame by using them. JD Jones does not recommend them in Encores for this reason.
