.408 solids beyond a mile

I realize that the number of those shooting ELR with .408 are in the minority compared to the .375 and others. I will soon be ready to shoot up to 2 miles or so and want to speak with anyone with actual experience with solids and differences between them.I have Lost River 419's now from many years ago and want to compare them to newer offerings such as Cutting Edge over extreme distances.

i have not shot my .408 yet (415 CEB) but I have been really surprised that there is no heavier bullets, say in the 450-480 grain range. sorry, don't mean to hijack your post

Best of luck with the 408 Randy , wish I could assist but haven’t shot
that bullet . The guys who have tell me to keep a close eye on copper
fouling condition . The new CE material is better , but the velocities
folks are running at , barrel condition / fouling is always as issue .

Keep us posted with your results , information shared helps us all
move forward .

What is CE Materiel?

Matt is correct, CE = Cutting Edge Bullets (aka CEB). They make lathe turned copper solids in a bunch of calibers, another is Lehigh Bullets who does copper and some bronze solids. - Alan Warner (Warner Tool Co.) also makes copper lathe turned solids.
Pay attention to required twist rates when using these.

Good Luck - Ron -
