40-xb .22 value when bolt is different

so i found a 40-xb in .22LR and the rifle is in really clean condition and looks nice. good condition wood, redfield comp sights and a heavy barrel that looks great..the only thing i'm finding i'm not sure about is the bolt. the bolt is a straight handled bolt from a 40-x and he's asking top dollar for the rifle at $1100. i'm thinking it's worth about $600 because of the mismatch. if i'm paying top dollar i'd want top condition. plus...i agree that it'll shoot great and serve its purpose correctly...but i just have a problem with stuff like this because it really hurts it's value more in my book because of collectablitly. so is $600 fair or am i low??? and it's most likely impossible to come across a 40-XB .22 bolt...correct?

If you think it is only worth $600, then don't buy it. Not haveing seen it, makes it hard to say, but I suspect he will get his $1100.

Non matching bolt is not as important as is correct headspace. The best shooting of all 5 of my 40X rimfires is a mismatch but the headspace is right on the nuts. Have the headspace checked by a competant pro with a gauge and make your decision based on the numbers. Enjoy.

A lot of the CMP rifles had miss matched bolts..I'm into 22 target rifles and have owned a lot of them..I'd walk on by on this one..if you want a primo..contact Jim Williams ,Graysonville GA...he's 80 and selling his lifetime collection..all first class..i bought 6 52 D's from him..all shot well and were the best looking I've seen..he has some for sale on Benchrest Central..

he's asking top dollar for a less than rifle..for the money you can get a primo 40x..if you know where to look
