Dan, forget the soft lenses! Get Rigid Gas Permeable. I had one set for more than 10 years!!! And I could still wear them, if I had kept them.
If your optometrist hasn't at least suggested RGP to you, then you've got the wrong optometrist. Probably because soft lenses are way more of a money maker for the industry...
