3rd Party Sale Solicitations -- Banned Members, Warning

FORUM Boss: SHB received PMs from two recent members who have both been banned. Possibly the PMs were sent before the ban.

Recently I was looking for a rem model 700 s.a. in the classifieds.


I got two pm's from different users telling me to email their friend, he has one for sale. If they're scammers whats the angle?


is this an efficient way to get email addresses?

Your Spidey senses are serving you well in my opinion. Unless someone replies to your request via the medium you requested it in (i.e this forum) I would not respond.

Run fast, being sent to buy from a third party is a sure sign of a scam unless you know the 3rd party.

You will see a line through their forum name, if messages are still appearing in your mailbox.

NEVER, EVER communicate with a banned member
Do NOT follow these referral emails. They are using a third party because their own emails have been banned.

We do not delete the accounts so we can block. If we delete they can try to get back in. But they can no longer access.

Pretty obvious but wanted to let you know my experience with him. Joined today and replied to my wtb ad with a “contact so and so, he has one”. There seems to be more and more of this going on as we get closer to the holidays. Just be aware. Ask for a phone number, more pictures or whatever you...
