3rd Generation 6XC Brass

Anyone waiting to get some of this brass? Still curious to see what quality and hardness is compared to Lapua brass.

July 1, 2005 I received my order of 500pcs of Tubb 6xc brass today. I ordered it the first week of December 2004. Have faith, if you are still waiting the brass is coming.

I got my 300 cases yesterday. I must say, I was somewhat surprised. They do not appear to have been anealed, and they look somewhat soft. They also have black stains inside the pourous outer finish on many,most) of the cases.

I'm not going to pass jusgement on these cases until I give them a shot though. They could be the cat's ass, and just look like Hornady brass.

I recieved my Tubb brass a while back, due to rifle malfunction, have not had a chance to shoot them. While doing prep work on them here are some observations;

from 700 cases:

1. the weight varied from 151.8 to 155.5 with the majority between 152.7-153.7
2. they seem very hard
3. had several,app.50) that had splits in the neck, or voids in the neck-shoulder junction, some couldn't be detected until they were polished
4. case run-out varied from dead on to .007"
5. the neck thickness is pretty good, varied from .013"-.0145" with most at .0135" I turned mine to .013" for clean-up

Like I said before, I haven't had the chance to shoot them yet, but hopefully next week.

I am new to rifle reloading so don’t beat me up if this seems silly and yes I am still waiting on my order of brass… I have been fire-forming my brass and playing with the charge weights while doing so. I have actually gotten sub .3 and .25 5 shot groups at 100 during the forming process using cheap Winchester brass and 37 to 38 gns of H4350 with the DTAC 115s,I did start to see pressure signs above 39 probably because the powder is getting packed unlink once the formed brass and I shoot at 39.6 with no problem). Will I see a noticeable difference in the new brass and the way it shoots?? When I see folks weighing their brass I cant help but wonder if I am missing the boat on something. I shoot primarily F-Class not bench rest is that makes a difference.
