3D Printing in the Gun Room

I got talked into buying a 3D printer last week as it will be extremely handy for my other hobby of model railroading. I jumped in with both feet and designed some items for the gun/reloading room as well. First thing was a simple stand for a webcam that I use to view the indicator on my beam scale so I don't have to bend down to look at it level

Next was an insert for the box I keep my head space & bullet comparator bushings in to keep them from rolling around. I didn't get the holes for the bullet comparator bushings perfectly straight, but I'm still learning.

Then I did a box to fit on the back of my press to hold the various doo-dads for it. It is held on by two magnets. I made this one too long though so I shortened it up and the new one is printing right now.

I really like this thing so far and have also found a fair number of prints for both the gun and the train rooms. I'll be designing more of my own as well.

Does anyone else here 3D print? If so show some of the things you've come up with.

That is impressive . My Son just received his first printer, I will be watching this thread . Where is a good spot for rookies to find downloads for gun related products ? I had a single shot mag made for a CZ and it was perfect...snapped right in to place like it was supposed to . Thanks

I could use one of those box inserts - how much to print me one?

I would like more info also - What software do you use to design the objects?

Is the printing media expensive?

No 2.2 lbs runs between $25 - $40 Canadian. $19 - $30 U.S.

I'm in for one of the comparator boxes.

I don't know id I'm ready to start selling yet. But if I do I'll let you know for sure.

For software I use Tinkercad.

Check out thingiverse.com and myminifactory.com. I searched for reloading and found a pile of print files. I've never searched for magazines myself.

You should get some bubble level vials and print scope levels / anti-cant indicators.

There's a guy in Germany (I think) who made a 3-D printed Ruger 10-22 receiver. He's been Beta-testing it, and I believe he's about ready to go to market with it.
