.375 RUM

anyone out there shooting a .375 RUM for long range? looking at the 300+ grain cutting edge bullets and think that loading them in the RUM would make a good pair for long range

I at one time shot a 300 RUM thus my screen name, I now shoot a 338RUM, they are not that much different from the 375RUM or any other round you may use to hunt with. Just remember when you do your homework to keep in mind that you have to maintain a good velocity to target or you will find yourself tracking down your game for the next two days on some mountainside with out food or water.

My last take was a Fox at 1237 yards with a 250gr .338RUM. I figured I was either going to get rid of the predictor killing my chickens or I was going to have chicken for dinner that day. It was 6am and no wind , I shoot 1K in competition all the time with my .308 so it was no biggie to let one fly at that range with me 338RUM. The whole thing was somewhat interesting, looking through the scope I could see the chickens in a tizzy and the instant the threat was exterminated (fox) the chickens went right back to there every day normal bug/food hunt them selves.

What is the range your hunting at?
