375 forsberg, 375 whisper

i am looking for dies and cases for this cartridge.. basically its a 7mm BR necked up to .375 diameter.
also interested in reloading data for this cartridge as well.. I am planning to build a bolt gun using savage axis as the platform and a wilson barrel 24 inch long SS... so I have my 280 Rem in the smiths hands as we speak, and when I get up an extra 200 my 7mmBR goes in next as I now have the barrel in my hands,,,, that leaves my 280 British barrel to buy and now this 375 barrel to buy...Yayy me!!!

Lee Forsberg owns and operates:

Dad's Gun Shop

We used to shoot one of several of the .375 Forsberg in bolt actions pistols which was excellent for silhouettes. Call him for details.

I have a 375 whisper, you can get dies from CH4d as to cases you'll have a easier time then I did as I'm in Australia. I was fortunate to obtain 300 cases locally to neck up.

I've played with mine a little, on a few loads. From 225grn too 300grn

Had a change of rules at the local range so limited to 8mm max so I hadn't played much since then.

But have taken some critters with it. Like hitting them with a hammer.

I can't see why one couldn't neck down a 308 cases small flash hole and neck turn. Would be a cheap method

yeah I baught a set of dies off of ebay the only set I have ever seen and I ruined it by trying to get a stuck case out of it so now I need a new die so I am glad to know about ch4d I made about 350 cases out of 6.5 creedmoor cases worked just great.. I am glad you report good hunting news about this round 'cause that is the main reason why I want it, to hunt deer and bear here in Michigan..

Sambar deer is the biggest I've taken with it, few rabbits and sly devils the Redfox.

Biggest game we have here is NT buffalo. Never taken one. Camel too but shot a few with the 300winmag.

Shame about the die, if you had the reamer. I'm sure a Lee die that's close to case dimensions could be modified.

As said haven't played alot with it since range rules changed. It's a 4hr round trip to go to another range that permits larger then 8mm rule.

I did muck about making my own pjys also. A 200grain hp made from cut down 223 and and swage into a home made die. The concept worked so when I get around to it I'll make a better die for a much heavier pill.

I should add its not suppressed as obtaing them are a rare thing and very costly with strick conditions etc.

It's a Stevens 200 (sav10) 16"bull barrel in a bell Carson stock.

Old pic from the beginning about a year or so ago, the 200grain HP (cut down 223 case formed to 375 pill)) next to my dummy 225grn interloc for setting up seating die.

I always make a dummy up for each pill I settle on for depth seating, makes for setting up quicker if I need to revert to another cal.

Sorry it's 2 years, so almost a year it's sat in the safe. Winters over, ground starting to dry up. We have had a wet spring... Fox cubs are coming out of there dens so will start to use it again.

It's hard when one has a number calibers to pick from what to take on a outing. My 204 topped off with a Gsci thermal has seen the most use over last few months.

I want to do a 510whisper too, but until a localish range opens up to more then 8mm last thing I want is to upset landowners to blasting off all day. As Cans are almost unobtainable here.

wow that is so awesome!!! that bullet you made looks really good!! nice rifle too!! so what was there reasoning behind the 8mm and smaller rule?

It's a nraa rule on the range template, even though we shoot towards the sea with a large backstop etc the caliber limit is set to 8mm

Yet one of the agm, 's the police wanted to use out range to pistol training, but they wouldn't approve the use of pistol cal on the range by civil users. So they where told no use of the range as they wouldnt approve range for pistol yet they where going to use the range for pistol and rifle training for unlimited access and no cleanup power usage and facilities usage or target repair costs etc. For the sum of $10k per calender year.

On the board voted no to that. So they have given us a bad time. As the district Firearms officers has the power to close the range etc.

Range was approved with new frames, we got back to shooting for 3 months then the same frames were the reason for its closer yer again for 3vmonths anf just reopen last month.

Lots of chest beating and BS politics.

We don't have the right here, it's a privilege one the gov is trying to rid of.

The first batch from the homemade die, from the home made reamer. For the testing if it was workable.

Avg 1" group at 100y so that's good enough for me Esp when it's not used for shooting much past 100 on large critters.

For sure !

That's freaking cool that brass/lead bullet made from 223 case.

If you're able to get MOA at 100 yards, that's as good as it gets. Good job mate !

I'm sorry about the garbage politics down under. I'm in Canada and we put up with tons of that crap, tho we stand our ground.

We have no problem telling the LE who use(d) our range to pack it up because they thought our range rules didn't apply to them.

:D

Then the inspector came and gave us shit for the very things those dummies did. lol

steve arent those pills really cool!!!!?? makes me wanna buy 2000-3000 once fired cases and experiment too!! skips 200gr bullet are exactly what I want to shoot!!
