WANTED 37 remington stock

Wow, good luck. I don't mean that snidely but there were only some 12,200 made. It's worth a try though you never know but don't be disappointed if you can't find one. One possible solution is to find someone with a stock pantograph and find an original from someone who has one and have it duplicated. Just a thought.

There is a stock maker that has a sporter pattern, forget his name, i,ll check when I get home. I talked to him awhile back about making me a br stock

i said that wrong, he has a sporter pattern inletted for a 37, but will do a br stock, and has someone else you can send it to do the inlet for the 37.

There were three model 37 stocks. The early one with a barrel band; the barrel band stock with the band area cut off and reshaped and the final Randal design.

elucidate me please. Are you talking about the select wood and oil finish options as variations? Tks
Negative, those are just add ons to the stock. Oil finish was an additional 2.50!!!
There is a great thread on stock variations here

I'm too lazy to to type it all, it's a good read and very informative, Cheers

Keep looking, I got lucky a few years ago an old timer had a brand new Mcmillan bench rest stock that he had it inleted for his Remington 37 and never got around to using, he insisted on getting 200 dollars for it because that is what he paid many years ago, I expedited the payment to him before he changed his mind, lol.

I found the article. Tks. I would categorize the stocks in three types...barrel band, short stock with barrel band cut off and the Randle. I think that something like the change in rear sling swivel or a slight lengthening of the former barrel band stock to put more wood in front of the front rail a style change. c
Changes like these are a source of constant debate regarding is it a style change or an upgrade to a style or a type change? Who am I to disagree with the Blue Ridge Parson!! :)

Seeing how the 37 stocks were serial numbered to gun, I see no value in getting a “original” 37 stock compared to a repro. Just get a repro.
are you talking about the number stamped onto the butt plate and the same number stamped into the wood of the buttstock?
