357 Mag Primer Question

I've used both Herco and BE 86 in the .38 Super with non-magnum primers.
The Alliant loading for BE 86 in the Super Auto recommends a Federal 100.

I think you're okay.

If you're using a case full of 2400 or W 296 then you'd want the longer flash from a magnum primer.

Magnum primers should be used with H110/WW296 (same powder), Alliant 300-MP and there is a Western Powder, either Ramshot or Accurate brands that requires a magnum primer (I don't remember which). Most all others including 2400 get by with standard small pistol primers.
