35 Remington lever gun

Hello I’m starting to load for my marlin 336 in 35 Remington most of my die sets for other calibers are Redding and some are RCBS . I was thinking of going with the Redding 3 dies set does anybody used these dies in 35 Remington any thoughts thank you .

My 35 Remington dies are Lyman with an "M" die, that I have had for many years now.
I like Redding dies, but the Lyman dies are just fine.

For a lever action, you probably won’t get much use from the neck sizing die, so the 2 die set is all you need.

I have an extra RCBS 2 die set that I can sell for a good price. If you are interested, DM me

Thank you

Howdy !

IMHO -
LEE's " Collet neck size die " was/is the best reloading tool ever introduced for reloading .35 Remington ( this includes assembling loads for use in a Marlin M-336. )

I give my Remington-brand .35 Rem cases a rudimentary outside neck turn "skim trim", that does little more than reduce outside neck " orange peel " texture; but does make neck ODs more consistent.

You can adjust the amount of neck " squeeze " on the bullet ( for lack of a better term ), by reducing neck sizer die mandrel OD in small .001" increments. I tried 3 different mandel ODs on my .35 Remington reloads, but after-the-fact... had already found the squeeze I needed after trying the first 2 different ODs.

YRMV -
I am shooting my M-336XLR from a bench doing accuracy work, and don't use a crimp. This rifle is not used on live game in the field, and it has a light trigger pull.

Here's a few pics...

Had a great 5-shot group goin' @ 100yd, but was large on the last 2 shots because I held outside the group to compensate for what I thought the windflag was showing me; and the last two shots impacted right where I was holding !

For my Marlin 35 Rem I use the Lee 3-die set; FL sizing, bullet seating and factory crimp. I haven't shot the rifle in quite a while but the load I settled on was 38.0 gr Varget, 200 gr Hornady FTX in reclaimed Federal cases, CCI BR-2 primers. I did crimp the cartridges. Didn't have a chrony back then but the 100 yard accuracy was more than satisfactory for my needs.

Wow I am super impressed outstanding if possible could you please show me what dies I would need it would be great to speak with you if possible about this. This is something I would love to achieve. Many thanks 347-242-1806

Chiming in to give a 2nd vote for the Lee 3 die set with the Factory Crimp Die.

I'm getting great 3 shot accuracy @100yd using these dies, pulldown IMR4895, and 180gr speers

I've combined brands, I use a RCBS FL 2-die set, supplemented with a Lee crimp die. My 336XLR has been IA deer legal for a few years now but I couldn't find brass! Stocked up this year when I found it...Been playing with the 200gr FTX over 38-40 grains of LVR. 38 grains gave cloverleafs @ 100 yards.

It may get the nod for the deer season next month.

Howdy !

Great, great work there!

Have you thought about trying Cutting Edge .358" cal 150gr
turned brass " Extended Range Raptor " bullets ?

I shoot them in my XLR, and they group even better than the excellent plated Remington 150PSPs I ran out of.

IMHO - 150gr is the best accuracy bullet weight for .358" calibre
