Jortz -
Howdy !
Here's a pic of the 50yd group mentioned above ( green colored target ).
It is a tad blurry, but shows the cold bore shot, second shot taken after scope adjust ( both labeled ); and the final 5-shot group.
I take cold bores shot on a bore that still has residual bore conditioner ( Montana Extreme ) in it.
Once I figured the impending bullet impact point on the target would be close enough to see in the scope along w/ the bull; I then shot the 5 for record. Looks promising...
I'll be doing my final load refinements w/ the 150ER Raptor @ 100, during my next range trip; over the same reduced charge of IMR4198.
I just received my Wilson .35 Rem case length/headspace check gage yesterday, and want to first for through all my brass and see how consistent my cases are for headspace.
I'll include pics of a 100yd 5-shot group I also made w/ the M-336 XLR .35 Rem. That group was shot w/ Rem .358" cal 150PSPs. I take full responsibility for the two 2 shots outside of the group. I WAS watching the windflag, but misread it... and held outside the group, based on the condition I thought the flag was; for those last 2 shots. Aaack !
Hard to find the 150PSPs anymore. They were originally made only seasonally as reloading components, and Rem is now backing out of the components market. The group was shot using IMR4759, which I read is also on its way out. These two factors lead me to try the same 150gr throw wt in an available .358" cal rifle bullet, and also to try IMR4198. The latter also because I wanted a known temp stable / accuracy powder.
My point:
IF you might be able to use a 150gr .358" cal bullet, Cutting Edge' brass 150ER might be worth a look ? Let me know is you find a good source for the 150PSPs !
