33xc

Since the 33xc has been out for a little while now, has many people had any expericence with it? I am interested in one. I have a 2000 yard target i can frequently shoot and I am looking hard at the 33xc. thank you

It's a very well thought out design. More velocity than a 338 Lapua, with same size bolt face. Uses standard 7/8" dies. Good brass is available.

Capable of good precision. I used one to win the 2019 NRA ELR light gun national championship.

Ideal for anything out to 2000 yards.

I was hoping one of the major rifle companies would jump on this.

Not likely.

This is the land of custom rifle builders. Big actions, bigger, longer barrels and expensive glass. But the outcome will be lots more fun at longer ranges!:D

Never gonna happen.

This is proprietary. And even if it wasn't proprietary, the COAL is too long for any action from the major rifle makers. The brass itself is a little more than 3".
The 30-378 case is longer. More then one company chambers one. I even believe Remington does one. I know Sako does. Matt

I thought 30-338-378-416-460 Weatherby's case length is closer to 2.903

33xc brass is 3.090"ish.

505 Gibbs brass is 3.150" long, so the brass length itself might not be a problem.

Most of the problem would be the COAL. The longest COAL manufacturers support is 3.85"ish,.. So the 33xc will be good for a single shot only if using a common action.
If I had to take a guess as to the 33xc's coal with different bullets, I'd think 4.2" to 4.5" depending on bullet
