338 RUM

Greetings,
I ended up with a Stiller P 300 action, McMillan A-5 and an Obermeyer 31” HV contour 1-9.3” barrel. Got .338 Rum brass, Redding dies and 100 300gr SMK’s, along with a PTG .338 RUM reamer and an MBM Beast 5 port brake. I am a .308 win shooter. Hints??
Thanks,
John

When the rum cartridges came out I watched results and reviews. Since I had a 7 rem mag,I felt the 30 wasn't enough bump,so I bought .338rum. I changed the recoil pad , the factory sucked, basic scope and no brake, just stock rem w/o the bolt key lock. The rifle will shoot, but as the previous post..,hang on!!
If you want an accurate win mag equipment ie 2700fps 85 gr 4831 w 250sgk.....retumbo is too slow ie fireball... I have approximately 150 down the barrel, since I've moved east I sometimes think of parting with it. The one thing I have is brass, factory loaded swifts, enough to last a lifetime for an elk hunter. Have fun and hang on.

As major components sit, I am at 20.5lbs. This will be an ELR Light / LR rock shooter. I’ve got 30# of H-1000 on hand, and a couple thousand of both Fed 215M and Rem 91/2 primers.
