338 rum ?

I have a 338 rum being built. Plan is to use dbm and 300 smks. What powders give low fill % to allow room to seat the 300 smk to mag length and not have a VERY compressed load?

Rl33 and rl25 are not compressed in my 338 lapua at max load.

What is your mag length if you know off the top of your head?

7828ssc may also be an option

You are handicapping yourself if you load to a fairly short OAL. Many of the top 300gr loads in the Edge are quite long, many over 3.9". Look into this before deciding on your load.

I have accurate mags. Don't know the length off the top of my head. Dummy round looks ok, but it IS seated deep.

Are 300smks ok off the lands?

Im my lapua the 300smk actually preffered a .025 jump for best accuracy. Dont overlook the 285gr hornady hpbt and 285 amax. Still sitting right around .7 for a bc and the little bit of added velocity evens that out. Plus they shoot good for me no matter if I jam or jump them. Also depending on distance you will be shooting the 250 scenar or lockbase or berger 250 otm are flatter to 1 mile due to the gained velocity even though the bc is slightly lower.

Whats your setup going to be as far as barrel length, action, twist rate?
