338 Lapua Improved, H50BMG load data?

Has anyone tried this powder with 300 grain bullets? Looking for a starting charge. Thanks.

Yes i did but could not get the Vel. i could get with 33 with less pressure.

I've got a Lapua Imp also, a Yogi, and unless you are dead set on the 50BMG powder, RL33 with the 300g bullets is the way to go.

What length barrels? I am only hitting about 2970 fps with a 300 OTM out of a 32" barrel before getting excessive pressure signs. This is at 104 grains (GM215M) and a COAL of 3.875". Everything I've read about RL33 made me think that 3000+ fps would be a walk in the park.

I've got a 30" barrel and 104.5g of R-33 gets the 300 Elite Hunters to 3100.

I'm running 103.5 with 300 OTM out of a 1-10 twist Hart 28" long at 3008 FPS with no pressure SD of 6.

This is a Bartlein barrel and the 3rd 338 Bartlein I've had. While accurate, they seem to be slow.

I'm just fine with 2970 fps. Just wanted more. ;D

Thats odd i've had two in 6mm and both ran faster than my krieger and i know Tom M seen the same thing with his . funny that the different cal. is opposite , i still like both.

Were the 2 Bartleins and the Krieger all 5R? Or was the Krieger a 4-groove vs 5R Bartleins??
