.338 Lapua build

Hi Guys,
I am tossing around an urge to build a .338 Lapua hunting rifle. Just because. I want to shoot the 300gr Bergers and maybe the long Barnes bullets. I have an Eliseo tube rifle in .338RUM that uses the CIP mag now. While the mag works fine, I would like more room for the long bullets. I am also not a huge fan of a mag hanging below the stock on a hunting rifle. Will a Wyatt 4" extended mag box work with BDL bottom metal? Are there any other options?
Thanks,
Scott

I am looking at the Bat HR, Defiance Hunter, and the Stiller TAC. I know the TAC is set up more detachable mags. The Defiance Hunter has feed lips for an internal box magazine. I am awaiting a response for the Bat action. I do like the hybrid port on the Defiance for loading a box magazine from the top. I know the box mag will most likely only hold 2 shells.

I have a defiance rebel that I built into my 338lm. I use an AI mag and chassis system. It works very well but close attention has to be paid to pillar length or it wont feed. If you want to shoot the 300s be sure to get the right twist. I prefer a 7 at about 31" and it shoots all the 300s very well and the other ones ive done in 338edge do the same. Defiance offers a very nice chassis for AI mags too which is what I usually use. Seating depth is not a problem and the AI mags are plentiful and bullet proof

Have you looked at one of these actions, Good and Bullet Proof

Here is the plan so far. After much research and pm's with guys who have been down this road already, here is my plan. I have decided to purchase a Stiller TAC338 repeater action and Stiller also stocks Weatherby BDL bottom metal specifically for these actions. The bottom metal allows for 3.8" oal cartidges which works for the 300gr hybrids. The TAC is overbuilt with a longer tenon. Talking with Russ at Stiller helped me finalize my decision. He took the time to answer all of my questions and didn't try to steer my opinion one way or the other. Thanks for everyone's help.
