338 Lapua Ackley Improved forming brass ??

Well here it goes, in the past I've fire-formed "6 Dasher" brass by taking 6BR brass ad loading it with 9.5 grains of Hodgons' Titewad, I then filled the remainder of the case with Cream of Wheat up to the neck and capped off with a wad of bathroom tissue. Upon firing I had cases that were 95% formed it worked like a charm. I now have a project based on the 338 Lapua that I'm "Ackleyizing" and was wondering if anyone has ever used the COW fire-forming method on a large Magnum type case like the 338 Lapua and if so what powder and how many grains did you use to do the above. I'd like to thank anyone in advance for taking the time to answer my question.

Kevin,

Had to fireform 8x68S RWS brass to form the 338 Tooley. The 338 Tooley is about like a non belted 300 Winchester Mag. I used 20 grains of Unique. This was safe in my rifle, but be very carefull you can easily blow up a gun with pistol powder. Start low and work up slow. If you are not sure just fire a fully loaded 338 Lapua round to form.
