Several years ago I built a 338 edge, fired it exactly 10 times and decided that it was way to much gun for me. So this is what I have as a package for someone wanting to build a 338 edge.
McGowen 338 Edge Barrel - for Savage small shank, Barrel is 28 inches long and 30 inches long to the end of the brake. It is a 1 in 9 twist with a brake made and installed by Ross Shuler. the barrel diameter is .80 at the brake.
I Formed 338 edge brass out of 300 Rem ultra Mag Brass. So i have the following dies to include\
RCBS 375 Ultra Body sizing die (no decapping rod)
Lee 338 Ultra Seating Die
Lee 338 Ultra Sizing die
Whidden 338 Edge Bushing sizing die with a RCBS 364 bushing
A 300 Ultra Go Gauge
52 Pieces of fired Remington 300 Ultra mag Brass
12 Pieces formed into 338 Edge Brass
10 Pieces of Fired 338 brass From this barrel
I have $750+ into this setup and would take $600 TYD.
