.338 barrel lenght

I have a 338 edge with 30” 9.5 twist barrel if I shorten it to 26”so I can run a 7” suppressor would that affect the performance at long distance?

You’re just going to loose 50-100fps

More wind and elevation to deal with.

I’ve shot a 338 NM with a 20” barrel out to 2500 a few times and out to a mile quite often, 300 Berger at 2580 and it does pretty good.

The 80 fps or so you will loose isn't a game changer. However, you can expect the tune to change because of the shorter barrel, velocity change and added weight of the suppressor. The question is at what new velocity will the combo tune? If it happens to be at 80 fps less then that's not a big deal. If its not happy and you need to lower speeds to get it in tune then that's potentially a different story.

Maybe this is a lighter, hunting-weight rifle, but if not why not shoot the 30" suppressed? It looks a bit ridiculous but I shoot 32" barrels with a Thunderbeast Magnus RR which is very long. I have to deduct a few yards from my range finder results but it works :)
