338 Ammo Box

What does everyone use for an Ammo Box for a 338/378 style case? I'd like it to ideally hold at least 20 rounds, and would prefer one that held more like 40. Having a hard time finding anything that is large enough for the belt on my 338.

Any idea's?

338 lapua fit bullet up or down . belted cases might need to be placed with bullet down .

I just got some for 375 Chey-Tac & am very satisfied.

i use them for 338 lapua. bullet up or down... I do both... green boss with a handle... 50ct.

I just went and looked at mine . the guys are correct , the bullets are up on mine . they would fit either way . 338 lapua does not have a belt though , belted might need to be bullet down . sorry for the bad info .

I ordered the MTM one, hopefully it can take the belted case bullet up. That's what I was looking for, if not I might check out that peterson one.

I wonder if a guy could drill the holes slightly larger on the MTM box...anyone tried that?

Not sure which MTM Box you ordered but they do make them that will take large belted magnums (such as .338-378 Wby, etc.)

My 4" 338 Edge fit easily bullet up.

For both of them I plan on removing the little bullet fingers in the bottom so that they can hold full length with bullet up. Easy job with the correct cutter.
