.33-45-70 cartridge

Weird. I bought some 45-70 brass. In the box were two bottleneck cases. Headstamp 45-70, but gently bottlenecked down to 30 caliber. Anybody here got a clue what they might be.

I think they come out a little short.

There was a 303 Lewis for the machine guns could also be made from 45-70. Other than that someone’s winter project that went bad?

the 33 WCF was my initial thought, but a 308" bullet just slips in and does not fall through. It might be a great round for one of my Borchardts sitting here looking a fast round.
