The vast majority of 30BR shooters are using light 110-125 grain bullets, jammed, 33.5-34.5 grains of H4198 and .003"-.004" neck tension.

I think Greg means N130

Yep. Thanks! I corrected my post.

As it seems that decreasing "N" number means faster burn rate in VV powders, I sure wouldn't want to try "N30". ;)

- More folks shoot 4198 than anything else
- N130 is a popular powder as well. Sometimes it's hard to get
- Some people are shooting Norma N200 but putting 4198 on the equipment list 8)
- Reloader 7 shoots almost idential to 4198. Some people say there is a lack of lot-to-lot consistency.
- Benchmark seems like a viable powder, but you never hear much about it.
- Tubal 2000 is a possibility, but I've been told it does better in 30 Major and 30 PPC size cases. It doesn't matter, it isn't being imported any more.
- I sure wish someone would try the new LT-32 and let us know how it works.

I failed to mention 4227. Just don't go there. It will suck you in, then get way too hot way too quick and leave you with wrecked brass AT THE VERY LEAST.

whats the most popular bullet

Robinette, Cheek, Knight I see alot. I prefer Conley. The big suppliers have a long wait most of the time. I think everyone has a wait now because no one can get jackets.

There are a host of them. Generally in the 112-118 grain range with lower number ogives. It's a bit like shooting a soda can, but it works very well. There are some people shooting 125 gr, but that's about as heavy as I hear about.

Here are a couple of articles:

In the first one, pay attention to what Al Nyhus writes. It will save you a lot of time getting started.

The little 30's are amazing. It's kind of like pizza. When it's good, it's GREAT. When it's bad, it's still pretty good.

My son's rifle went from good to SCARY good at 33.8 grains of Re7. It's a standard 30 BR. Lapua brass. 205M primer. 3.5 thou neck tension. Older 115 gr BIB 10 thou jammed.
