30BR freebore

30 BR, 330 neck, zero freebore, 118 gr. 7 ogive Cheek bullets. In order to touch the lands, I can seat them only .050" below the mouth. I use a .335 bushing.

I would like the bullets to seat down about .100" minimum below the mouth to give me better concentricity and tighter bullet engagement, and still kiss the lands. With zero freebore, is there any way to do this? Can my reamer be altered to give me this addl. FB?

Your problem may be with the case length. There are a few different 30BR reamers out there with trim lengths that range from 1.500" to 1.560". If you have a 1.560" reamer and trim to 1.500" you loose .060" of case length to hold your bullet. That may be your problem. I prefer the 1.560" reamer but in order to have cases this long you have to fire form the 6mm brass to 30. you can not expand and get this case length.

You might want that zero freebore at some point. A throating reamer will give you what you want, for less money.
