30BR for 300 m/y with some constrains

Currently I am using the tuner made by my gunsmith, Dave Short. I have had good results from the Bucky's Tuner in the past. @gunsandgunsmithing (Mike Ezell) tuner has a large following as well (I cannot comment on it personally as I haven't used one).
I personally feel that a tuner needs some type of damping property to really be effective. All of the ones I mentioned do that.

I'm asking because I don't know...is a 30br really better than a 6br at 300yrds? I have zero experience with the 30br, I always kinda thought they were uber accurate and slow and not very forgiving in the wind?
as for me, even if the accuracy of 30BR is at least comparable with 6BR, advantages of 30br in my particular case could be:
- bullet diameter - increase chances in score target discipline. A touched ring counts.
- apparently significantly longer barrel life. Rebarelling can take months and months in Germany, is quite expensive and painful procedure with a lot of constrains and regulations

I made and used a 30BR rifle to use from 100 to 300 meters matches, but my intention was to use it with heavy bullets not normally used in 30BR: 135 to 168grs bullets.
I really liked it because of mild recoil and good velocity of around 2.500 fps with 155grs. that, in my view, were the best bullets for 300 meters.
The accuracy was very good, averaging 0,5 MOA (minimum of 5 groups of 5 shots at 100 meters), easily making it within the 10 ring (10 centimeters at 300 meters).
Saying that, it is nowhere near the performance of the 6BR. The 6BR is a much better performer at 300 meters when comparing with the bullets I used (135 to 168gr) and I think that even if I had used lighter bullets, with their higher speed, it was not enough to compensate the much higher wind drift you get with the .308 bullets, comparing with the 6mm bullets.
The 6BR at 300 meters is much more accurate than the 30BR mainly because of the higher BC of the 6mm Bullets and much lower recoil (better for the shooter in the long run).
The real down side of the 6BR is that the barrel life is much shorter than a 30BR barrel.
This is my experience with both calibers. Hope it helps.

I have competed and won with a 30BR at 300 and 500 yard mates, as I have with a 6PPC also, if conditions are favorable. If your committed to 1 rifle though for 300 I would highly recommend a 30 x 47 over the 30 BR. It will be far superior to the 30 BR in the wind.

The 30x47 lapua is not certified by C.I.P AFAIK. It will be quite a challenge to get it approved as an Wildcat in Germany now...

I have a 308 running a 17 twist 27.5" barrel. Zero freebore chamber (was done using a 260 reamer for the body, then a 30 cal neck reamer). It pushes 118gr BIBs at 3500fps using palma brass with outstanding accuracy and mild recoil I am yet to stretch its legs, but I expect on still days it will perform well out to 600 yards
