30BR for 100-300ys. for score,????????

Welcome to the site SuperP. If you could provide a little more detail on what informant you are looking for, you may get better replies.

nothing new for my 30br 34.to 34.5 gr of H-4198 extreme bib 112 7 ojive 20 thousand jam kreiger 1-17 twist H.V taper some find tune in the lower 33 33.5 some have used reloader-7 I have never shot it at 300 yds but some more clicks on the scope is all you need. There have been some that have shot it in 600 com. But not the norm. Other than that Im not sure of what you are looking for. 112 thur 120 ish gr bullets I have read some post were some guys said serria 135 gr match bullets shot well maybe that would work for the 300 yd deal.

If I were using a 30 BR for 300yds I'd find out if someone out there could provide me with handmade 135gr closed point BT's. I'd want everything I could get going for me...............

need up to date general info.

Some good things never change. Here's the best info on the 30BR from its founding fathers and 30BR Score Shooters of the Year: http://www.accurateshooter.com/cartridge-guides/30br/

If you should need additional info, Randy Robinett is very accessible by phone. Super nice guy. And, he makes excellent bullets: http://www.bibullets.com/

A gunsmith up in NY uses his to hunt with out to 600yds. Beleive its VanTassel's gunshop. Oddest thing I had seen in a long time. He never lost one though and he could shoot the heck out of it.

Will the 135 grainers BT stabilize in 1/17 tw barrels? This seems a good idea...

I would say no. Looking at the latest Applied Ballistics, I am thinking 1/13 would be minimum and 1/12 would be better.

I don't have a 30BR so it is just me or is 1/17 real slow?

a 135 gr bullet will stabilize in a 17 twist barrel. i know this because i have personally done it many many times with at least two different 17tw barrels. In my opinion the 30BR is a poor choice for 300 yard shooting if there is any condition to speak of, even with a 135gr bullet! On a calm day, look out!! Happy shooting! lee
