Does someone have a load for fire forming 30BR using 110gr. Carbine bullets or any experience using these bullets for fire forming?

No help from me but it's a great question since I was wondering/wanting to do the same thing.

I use 30g of the new T-32 powder with a Hornady 110g V-Max .I always fireform twice , once with this load and once again with my full load that I will be using . Not knowing anything about your rifle , you may want to start 1-2gr. less . There are two other powders that are close and again you will want to start at 29-30g . They are Reloader 10X and IMR 4198 . Bore size , twist rate , reloading practices , elevation , and temp all play into what's safe and what's not ! Start low , wear your shooting glasses , and get a long string to pull the trigger with , hee , hee 8) !!

Thank you for the replies. The link to this site mentions fire forming but that is it. I can not find even older powders so getting T-32 is not going to happen for a while. 4198 I have but I'd rather not use it to fire form as I use ii in 3 other rifles so I like to try to conserve it for that right now. When you mention you fire form TWICE I assume the load you gave is considered 'light'?
The carbine 110's I have are new, not pulled from ammo. The action is a Savage with a 1-17 Krieger barrel. I wanted to use these bullets because I have no other use for them. I have fire formed other calibers thru the years but powder and bullets were there for the buying. So I could use some guidance from anyone who has done this with these bullets and I sure would like a few powder choices. Has anyone used pistol powders and a filler? Thanks.

The reason I say to fireform twice is because of brass springback . The first fireform does not achieve actual chamber dimensions . The second fireform will get you closer to actual case dimensions for your chamber . Also your neck tension will not be stable until you fireform and do a final cleanup on the neck .

Just load and shoot. Those 110 gr bullets for the M1 will do the job. Don't get all twisted up about it. If you can use Cream of wheat, you can surely use a real bullet.
