30Bellm

He's not talking about blems.......the 30 Bellm is a chambering based off of the 6BR.

I've not played with one myself but do know of one guy on the Savage boards that has one on a Stryker. Being from Illinois myself, the round has caught my attention.

Are you looking for pure accuracy or something to shoot critters with?

Ah hah! Another invader!! ;D

Personally, I use a Savage 220F 20 gauge slug gun, Savage 10ML-II muzzleloader or a Ruger SRH 454 for my Illinois whitetails. For next year, I'll be adding a T/C Encore pistol set up for the 300 AAC Blackout. I plan on shooting the 110g Barnes TTSX or the 125g Nosler.

I had looked into the 30 Bellm but unfortunately, the start up cost for me was just too high. Not to mention to extra time involved in fireforming cases on top of load development. Don't get me wrong, it looks like a fine cartridge and something I would definitely look into in the future when I have more time/money.

Diffently a invader. I want a big deer. KY deer are getting smaller.

I got a 7mmBR XP100 Im changing to a 30 Bellm. I dont like fire forming but I guess I do now :-\. The dies werent that bad $82.00. Got a bunch of 7mmbr brass anyway.

I Live in Illinois and use mine for deer hunting. I shoot 125 grain Nosler ballistic tips and 33 grains of H4198. It is a very full case and a pretty hot load but it shoots very good.

I make my cases from Rem 7BR brass.

I read its a 444 marlin cut down to 1.395 to meet ILL handgun ammo requirements.

You are correct, originally it was made from 444 brass. However, a more recent version uses BR brass.

If you scroll down towards the bottom of this page, you'll see info on the rimless version made from BR brass:

Yep, my bolt gun has a magnum bolt face and will shoot both the cartridges made from 444 Marlin and the cases made from 7BR brass. They can also be made from 6BR Lapua brass if you choose. In my opinion a bolt gun is the way to go. There is no way you could shoot the load I am using in a Contender and I am getting 2800+ FPS out of mine with the 125 Grain Nosler Ballistic tips. My barrel is 18" long.

Ya'll are confusing the 308 Bellm and the 30 Bellm. The former uses full length 444 brass the latter use chopped down (1.4") 444 brass.
The 30 Bellm was designed by Mike to be used in cartridge length restricted Illinois.
I like all of Mike's designs but use a bunch of Reeder's designs also (30 Raptor)
