308win - IMR 8208XBR Range report

41.0 grains in .5 incriments up to 45.0 grains. No pressure issues... hot as heck today...

Gave the best results so far over varget and reloader 15... Looks like it can be promising to me... I think you guys that said 8208 is worth a try were right. Everything is 5 shot groups... looks like there is a few nodes in there it liked. Human error had a little play in it though, I was sweating like crazy and fighting mirage. I'll have to go back and play in the better shooting areas node wise. I know I also had some neck tension issues too because the bullets where seating around 80 to 110 pressure wise on the 21st century arbor press.... way more than I like..

ALL shot at 200 yards

I told you in my earlier reply that I have never heard of a complaint with 8208 and the lighter bullets. It is the perfect burn rate for them! You look like you are on to something excellent! Now just do a large ladder test with seating depths and you will see just how good it can be!

I shoot the Berger 155.5 and the Sierra 155 using 8208. Both shoot extremely well in my rifle.
I also use 8208 in my .223.
Gonna see how it does with my new Dasher.

It was THE most accurate powder that i've ever shot in a service rifle. Having said that, there was too much fowling with it, Grit in the action that caused alibis by the time i moved back to 300yd line.

Never considered trying 8208 in a 223. I know it shoots well in my 6BR. Where do you start your loads?

I have found hat 8208 runs about 1 grain less than comparable Varget loads. When I used Varget it was 24.1 grains behind a 80 smk. I use 23.2 grains of 8208 for the same 80 smk. 30 inch 1:6.5 twist barrel.
