.308win Berger 185gr Juggernaught

Just putting it our there...what's the consensus on seating depth for this bullet in a bolt gun. Do they like a jam? Do they like a large jump? Small jump? What are you using as your jump?

In my rifle they really like 18 thous jump

Jump'em. Start at 0.003 out to 0.020 My bet is you'll wind up somewhere around 0.010 Or 0.022 like Brett's rifle likes.

Hell, just shoot them.

Back before we all went to 200s, when I shot them in F-TR I did a test at 300 yards and I didn't see a significant difference in group size from jumping .0015 to .0050. I think when I got over 50thou jump it opened up some. Probably the easiest bullet ever made to get to shoot well.

With .180 FB, I'd have to seat the Juggs to where they almost fall out of the neck. Instead I just seat them half-way down the neck and call it a day. I estimate that is .060+ off the lands. These bullets are so easy, it doesn't much matter where you seat them....or how much powder you put in the case as long as it's the same for every case. :) If you aren't shooting well with these bullets, it's probably not the ammo that is the problem.

I haven't handloaded any of them, but tried a box of Federal's match load using these bullets. They shot very well in a Remington 700 5R mil spec heavy barrel. OAL averaged 2.81".

This bullet is very jump tolerant, it’s design is the same as the Berger 6mm 108, and maybe the .224 80.5 grainers all easy to tune, extremely accurate.

Do you give up a little BC vs a Berger Hybrid, sure, but generally they’re a little more work to tune.

These bullets are consistent box to box, lot to lot, that all trade a little performance in the BC category, for as I have found out repeatable winnable accuracy.

Jump those puppies 10-20 thousandths with a nice load, lay down and shoot X’s all day.

I have shot them a lot. I have shot the from 10 off to over 100 off. This bullet is not sensitive to seating depth at all! I found around 20-30 off shoot the best. Great bullet.

Consensus Opinion . LOAD EM , SHOOT EM ! Long as they stay in the case till you get em in the chamber , your good to go . Like Scott said ; if they don't shoot for you , it ain't the arrows , Cochise .
