308 win rechamber to 30BR ?

I have a Krieger 10twist chambered in 308 and was considering having it rechambered to 30BR. Just wondering if anyone has done this before and if they wished they had not. I intend to use for paper punching, a little deer hunting, and varmint hunting. Any and all info would be appreciated.

As long as you have enough length on the shank to shorten & rethread the shank while reaming slightly past the old chamber, you're good to go. Probably the bigger issue is if you have a twist rate that works for the bullets that you are going to shoot.

I have enough shank left to cut, thread, and rechamber. The largest bullet I will be shooting is going to be a 168gr. I just don't know too much about the 30BR and that's why I am asking.

Most everyone I know shooting the 30BR is using slow twist barrels, in the 1-17 range with very light weight bullets. Powder capacity will be limited for anything heavier than around 135 gr. You might be breaking new ground with a 10 twist & heavier bullets. ???

Serria list a large selection of bullets for the 30 BR. I have not tried the larger bullets. My barrel is suitable for them. I don't know about others, but too much twist is always better than too little.
