308 Win Load Data with 168 Berger

Looking for reload data for my 308 Win. I have Lapua brass , Fed 210 primers. and Berger 168 grain bullets. My reloading books call for a wide variety of powder of which the only one I have on hand is Reloader15. Probably need to find some Varget.
Thanks in advance,
Brian

39.5 gr. of IMR-3031 <--- this used to be the AMU's 'cookbook' load in LC Match brass
41.0 gr. of H-4895
41.5 gr. of IMR-4895

I've used all three of those with great success, in an M1A for service rifle. FWIW, I use 210M's on the bolt guns, and CCI-34's on the semi auto's. All are loaded to 2.800" COAL.

My Sako TRG likes 46.0gr Varget with the 168 seated a few thou. off the lands. Some data shows this as max. Safe and accurate in my rifle. YMMV

You do not need to be a lemming just to say you use VarGet for your reloading. There are probably 1/2 dozen or more powders which are just as good if not better in your .308 Win. Re-15 is one of the best. You will need to develop your own load since each rifle and barrel will show variations.

VVN-530
VVN-133
VVN-135 (cooler burning)
Win. 748
Accurate 2495
H-4895
IMR-3031 (one of my favorites)
Re-15 (noted as one of the very best if not the best)

Enjoy the process!

:)

Hard to go wrong with the bullet maker's own data.

Berger lists their starting load with their 168 gr. bullets as 40.0/RE-15, making approximately 2485 fps.
Their max load is 43.8/RE-15, making approximately 2738 fps, and has a case fill of 100%.

Those are with a barrel length of 24" and a COAL of 2.810.

Good advice. There's a node in that range!

43gr of RL 15 under a 175 SMK is the early M118LR load. Start there for the 168 and you will prob end up around 43.5 or so.
EDIT: Added a jpg of the 4064 M118 LR load.
