308 w/175 SMK moly load data

Need suggestions for a powder for loading Privy Partisan factory pre primed 308’s with SMK, 175 gr, moly coated. Bolt gun w/26” barrel. Looking highest velocity and accuracy.

Highest velocity is seldom the most accurate. What is your rifle twist? The best powders are RL15, Varget, 4064 and Ram TAC. So far, my most accurate loads are using TAC and Varget powder. 4064 works great with the 155 SMKs.

For the heavy 175's I'd give IMR4350 a try. With my 308, a factory Savage FP, it will put 5 shots into the 3;s anytime I choose. However, regardless of bullet, powder case etc. ,It always produces it's tightest groups in the lower end of the velocity scale. I'm sure I would find a second node further up, but it shoots so well going slow I figured it's not worth the stress on the brass. You on the other hand are using cheap disposable brass so do a ladder test and find a high velocity node. I still bet it won't be as tight as the slower speed though.

+1 on both comments regarding velocity. I have run both Varget and Viht N140 in Lapua brass though, with the Fed 210M primer and 175 SMK non moly. Response at 1000 yards has been very favorable.
