.308 to .300 win mag bolt face

Im wondering if it would be possible to convert a Tikka t3 .308 to a .300 win mag. Obviously the barrel would need changing but Im wondering about the bolt face dimensions. And if the bolt is different, where would I get a bolt to suit.

I'm not all that familiar with the T3, but a couple issues are bound to come up. First, the boltface would need to be opened up,if possible) or a new bolt acquired. Second is the action length. Most .308's utilize a shorter action than is used for the longer cartridges, so loading/ejection ports are too small. Then there is a matter of feeding. The magazine will be too short to house the rounds, in addition to not feeding well, if at all. Essentially, you need a long action to do such a conversion. If your rifle was a 30-06, it would be as simple as opening the boltface and probably doing a little magazine work to facilitate better feeding.
