308 target loads

I have just purchased a cz 550 varmint rifle in 308.I have 2 questions.
1) Being as this is the only 308 I will be shooting,is neck resizing only ok?

2)Any recomendations on good loads 500yrds or so?

Make sure to take a look at this excellent article on loading the .308 - there's a great deal of good info here:

I shoot the Sierra 155 grain SMK with Moly. My powder is Varget and I normally hang in the low .3's @ 100 yards with a Savage Varmint rifle. At 500 yards this load will shoot 1/2 MOA if I do my part.
I neck size only with a Lee Collet die.

I shoot the Sierra 155 palma match in my 308, with varget powder. Accuracy is great, however I full length size my brass and I turned all the necks. Couldnt tell any difference in turning the necks to be honest though.

Neck sizing will work great and your brass will probably last a little longer.
I load 168 gr Hornady A-Max with IMR 4064, my gun shoots best at 44 gr. - good target and hunting load. Also, load 175 gr Sierra MatchKings with IMR4064 for targets 600yds and beyond.
