Wondering if anybody here has any experience with Sig rifle brass ? Good, bad, or indifferent. I have 50 pcs. I purchased a few years back and never used them. Was thinking about necking them down to .260.
I have some older .308 brass that cam annealed and like I said is so nice I have been saving it and loading my regular federal and remington brass , using it up... I only shoot rifles for fun so it's hard for me to pay Lapua prices... If you look you can find who they get their brass from , I know they have changed becouse the new .308 brass is not annealed like the old... They may be making their own now since their in the ammo busness....Necked down 10 pcs. of this brass to 260 and fired them in my 260AI. While blowing out brass with same load as with Lapua brass (100 gr. Hornady A-max) the group size was averaging @ .375 or less (and some .250 groups) which has been about normal for Lapua. Will need to re-load these with a 260AI (140 gr. Berger) load and see what they show me. At this point I will have to agree with AckleymanII that it seems kind of close to Lapua. Will post further results.
I tried it in the 260AI and 308. It seems to be good brass. A friend of mine was in need of brass so I gave it to him and he is still loading and using it. I would not hesitate to use it in any of my rifles. This thread is a couple of years old, so I'm wondering if anyone has reloaded their SIG rifle brass enough times to provide info on durability of primer pockets?
Anyone have their 6.5 Creedmoor? Is it SRP or LRP? Flash hole size?
: )Absolute crap, don't reload or shoot it, it's dangerous , send it to me and I will dispose of it properly.
Thanks, good info.I have one lot, 500 pieces, of Sig 22-250 brass made into 6XC. It has been loaded 5 times now with 115s for 600 and 1000 yards, not a light load. I have not lost a single case yet for any reason.
