.308 Palma brass decap.

Ok so I'm switching over to .308 Palma brass and was checking out the pocket hole seems smaller than the normal. What decapping pin do i need and where do I get it. I have Redding dies.

Don't have the measurement handy but a pin for a 6.5 X 47mm Lapua works. I bought some rcbs "small" pins the other day but haven't tried them yet.

They make small flash hole decapping pins like is used on a 6ppc case and some small caliber Lapua cases .

My older batches of Palma brass decap fine with a Lee universal and Whidden 308 die but the latest batch I prepped had smaller flash holes, They would only decap with my Redding competition neck sizing bushing die. I decap my 223 lapua brass with my Lee universal so I was surprised when my latest batch of palma brass got stuck on the pin.

I decap everything with Lee universal dies, one on a pot metal Lee press on the bench with a reservoir below to catch them & one on a Lee nutcracker that I carry on my traveling kit. On both, I chucked the pin in my bench drill press & safe edge filed it back to a clearance fit.

Give Redding a call, they will send out some smaller pins.
