308 Norna Mag help

I'm forming 308 NM brass from 300 Win Mag after annealing, and trimming to 2.56... then lube and run through the 308 NM FL die. I'm getting creases in the shoulder area. Is this something to worry about or will they come right out after firing. Thanks

No, creases won't hurt...if you do your forming in stages, turn the die out until the brass is a snug fit at the top of your ram stroke, then turn the die2 turns and stroke again etc... until you bottom out on the shell holder. You may have some small wrinkles in the shoulder but the first shot irons them out, just trim to length after that because the neck will grow, most time unevenly. Did a lot of research to find this out!!

Years ago I used a RCBS 308 Norma Trim Die to form 300 H&H brass into 308 NM cases. The neck of the case comes out of the top of the die so that the neck could be cut off before fire forming the case. That was before the 300 Win Mag brass was made and Norma brass was available. You might give the trim die a try.
